Position Summary

The Assistant Director ensures the effective and efficient delivery of daily operations, programs and services for the Center for Ballet and the Arts. Develop, implement and manage programmatic and administrative operations for the CBA in collaboration with the Director, including providing primary day-to-day management of fellowship program, events and operations, budgetary oversight and approval of expenditures, and supervision of staff. Create policies and procedures concerning Institute activities and coordinate public presence and marketing strategies to promote activities. Plan and manage budget; organize and coordinate events and programs. Support Director in identifying and securing external funding opportunities for Center initiatives. Act in Director's absence when necessary.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in arts administration, business administration, or other relevant field.

Required Experience:
7+ years relevant work experience in arts administration, management, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience with arts/culture programming, staff supervision, and budget and grants management (including seeking grant funding).

Preferred Experience:
5+ years experience in a University setting.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge and experience working with artists; knowledge of dance helpful but not required. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills and the demonstrated ability to act autonomously and exercise good judgment. Strong financial acumen. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel), Adobe, and social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Twitter, Facebook), with the demonstrated ability and willingness to learn other software applications as appropriate.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $75,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
