The School of Professional Studies (SPS) at New York University is seeking an Assistant Director who will plan and execute the EMSS Central communications and events to ensure strategic priorities are met. Design and implement NYU-SPS prospective and current student events in collaboration with the offices of Admissions, Student Affairs, and Wasserman Career Center to support student recruitment and retention. Utilizing internal data industry standards, and best practices, develop and execute internal communications for SPS academic units, as well as external communication campaigns. In partnership with the School’s central marketing and communications office, optimize EMSS websites, social media channels, newsletters, and other forms of communication to increase new student enrollment, event attendance, and student satisfaction and success. Supervise student employees.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
3+ years related experience in event development, communications, and budget and staff supervision, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
Familiarity with social media platforms; website management; CRM platforms for event management and direct communications (Emma, Slate, Handshake); Excel; Adobe Design Suite (InDesign); budget tracking, reconciliation and reporting
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Superior analytical, event and project management, multi-tasking, writing, proofreading and copyediting, and Microsoft Office suite skills. Strong presentation and public speaking skills. Ability to understand social media vehicles, communicate on various platforms and utilize data to drive strategy. Strong ability to work independently and across diverse prospect and current student populations, institutional offices and vendors, and professional organizations and associations. Some evening and weekend work is required. Some travel may be required. Lifting up to 30-50 pounds and transporting of on and off-campus event items may be necessary.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $67,500.00 to USD $82,500.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
