Manage of a variety of human resources functions for NYU College of Dentistry. Manage the recruitment and appointment process for administrators and staff. Administer the job evaluation process; resolve complex employee relations and performance problems; counsel department supervisors and employees on preventing and resolving workplace issues. Interpret federal and state employment laws, University human resources policies and terms of collective bargaining agreements; consult with Senior Director and Human Resources Division for guidance and clarification, as necessary. Plan, execute, and deliver employee engagement programs and initiatives. Develop and supervise College's Human Resources office staff.
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree and
Preferred Education:
Master's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations or related area
Required Experience:
3 or more years of increasingly responsible professional-level experience as a human resources generalist or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include indepth knowledge of a variety of areas in human resources and experience managing staff, administrative process and projects.
Preferred Experience:
Relevant professional-level experience as a human resources generalist in an academic environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Well developed planning, analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Broad knowledge of human resources concepts, practices, legislation, and procedures. Ability to develop and interpret policies and procedures, to interact effectively with a diverse population at all levels, and to facilitate decision making. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Human Resources certification (SHRM or other accredited certificate program). Working knowledge of HRIS/HRMS systems.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $79,722.00 to USD $97,438.00. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
