Position Summary

The Research Development Coordinator will join NYU’s Office of Research Development, which is dedicated to catalytic and capacity-building activities that enhance NYU’s research enterprise and grow its sponsored programs portfolio. The Research Development Coordinator will provide an integral function within the Office of Research Development by supporting strategic research working groups, disseminating funding opportunities, maintaining research development resources, managing communications, coordinating events, and providing administrative support for Office of Research Development staff and programming. The Research Development Coordinator will: * Conduct research to cultivate and disseminate strategic, relevant and timely funding opportunities * Develop the ORD newsletter, including identifying relevant resources and news items to include, writing copy, editing, and optimizing layout and delivery to increase ORD’s research and engagement with faculty * Proactively update and maintain the ORD website * Oversee the Research Development wiki pages by developing and identifying new, relevant resources and other content in response to identified research community needs * Facilitate research working group activities, including conducting internal research, developing research capacity inventories, maintaining membership, organizing meetings, and communicating with faculty, independently and in partnership with other members of ORD * Manage and execute ORD events including external funding agency visits, cross-campus conferences in strategic research areas, office hours, and department visits * Provide logistical support for team activities (e.g. scheduling) * Triage shared office email traffic and ensure timely and appropriate responses and flow of information by liaising with appropriate colleagues * Provide project management support for large complex proposals * Administer internal institutional seed funding programs * Provide logistical support to other ORD team members * Perform special projects and other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent 

Required Experience:
2+ years in an office setting with strong customer service skills

Preferred Experience:
3+ years. Experience working in a higher education setting. Experience with grants management or research administration

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to follow through. Excellent computer skills. Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word processing, spreadsheet and database applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines. Flexible and adaptable to a quickly changing environment. Ability to multitask using good judgment and discretion.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Familiarity working with research administration, working with faculty, events coordination, preparing official communications, and finding efficiencies.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $65,000 to USD $80,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
