As a member of the Technology Development Group at NYU School of Law, the Senior Systems Database Administrator is responsible to develop, optimize, and oversee the Law School’s conceptual and logical data systems in addition to creating and implementing standardized database management procedures, and overseeing the installation, security, and upgrading of organizational databases. Serve as a highly capable database architect/manager to enhance the performance of our organization's databases.
Candidates should possess extensive knowledge of database architecture and experience in a similar role. They should also have proven experience in data analysis and management, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in computer science or equivalent professional experience
Required Experience:
5+ years relevant experience as a database administrator in a medium to large scale, complex enterprise system and application environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to implement and support web services.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
• In-depth understanding of database structure principles • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements • Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques • Expertise in MS SQL Server and MySQL • Ability to use both command line and management tools such as Azure Data Studio • Familiarity with data visualization tools • Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks. • Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations. • Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms. • High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases. • Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases. • Understanding of addressing and metadata standards. • High-level written and verbal communication skills • Proven analytical skills • Problem-solving attitude
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of related technologies and skills such as API development, micro services applications, AWS RDS, PHP, Python, and GitHub.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $90,000.00 to USD $110,000.00.
