The Assistant Director, Polytechnic Tutoring Center (PTC) will assist the Senior Director in the overall management of the PTC. Serve as a mentor and supervisor to undergraduate tutors, develop content; course-specific tutor training materials; assess and redevelop review session materials; liaise with faculty to ensure alignment with course content; conduct assessments regarding usage and student performance. Participate and facilitate events such as Admitted Students Day, New Student Orientation, and commencement activities.
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, STEM discipline or related area
Preferred Education: Doctoral Degree in Engineering Education, STEM discipline, Higher Education Administration, or other related field. Master's Degree Engineering, Stem or related area
Required Experience: 5+ years years experience with student academic support and supervision or combination of education and experience
Preferred Experience: 3+ years tutoring Center experience. STEM environment experience a strong plus.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: High degree of initiative. Excellent organizational abilities. Ability to set priorities and to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent oral and written communications skills; excellent listening skills. Strong customer service orientation.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Ability to work collaboratively across university departments and offices, and throughout the university community. Experience with staff development is a plus.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $58,500.00 to USD $95,000.00.
