Position Summary

Conduct academic and registration advisement for significant cohort of students. Advise these students and process all necessary paperwork regarding registration, study abroad, permission to register off campus, leaves of absence, AWOL status and readmission. Review, troubleshoot and approve degree progress reports for graduation candidates. Create and maintain departmental student database. Manage departmental nominations for scholarships and allocation of merit ?based monetary awards

Qualifications

Required Education:
BA or BFA in theatre

Preferred Education:
Advanced degree in higher education administration or related field

Required Experience:
3 or more years relevant experience advising in theatre training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience developing and mainting computer databases (such as MS Access or Filemaker Pro) required

Preferred Experience:
Prior experience in an academic environment

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to assess appropriate student theatre training approaches; familiarity with standards, practices and techniques of professional theatre training; ability to collaborate, mediate and negotiate with diverse audience. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of standard office software including PowerPoint and online and traditional information databases (e.g., Lexis-Nexus).

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $58,500.00 to USD $70,000.00.
