Position Summary

The Assistant Director, P2P Excellence is responsible for developing, refining and/or advancing all aspects of the NYUs Procure-to-Pay activities and processes across the University's schools and units. Ensure successful transformation to and sustainability of a best-in-class procurement organization by leading projects and initiatives to drive change and continuous improvement of procurement and payables activities. Conduct reviews and analyses to ensure compliance with contracts, suppliers, and P2P Policies and Procedures. Lead and execute procurement and payables projects which consists of transformational initiatives across the University's schools and units to achieve efficiencies and cost savings. Maintain project pipeline and incorporate into multi-year financial planning process. Develop and present business cases for new initiatives based on data analytics. Develop and deliver presentations to key stakeholders inclusive of analysis and relevant data. Lead the change management and communication process to key stakeholder during the implementation phase of projects. Provide subject matter expertise, data, analysis, and support for other project across the P2P portfolio and in alignment with the business units goals. This role has a hybrid work schedule: Two days on-site and three days remote per week.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Accounting, Supply Chain, or related field

Required Experience:
5+ years relevant procurement, payables, and/or strategic sourcing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Experience:
2+ years in a consulting or advisory role in their Procure-to-Pay space. Experience of working in a higher education environment and 7+ years relevant procurement, payables, and/or strategic sourcing experience for a large organization. Experience with financial controls and fiscal compliance strongly preferred. 

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
A strong strategic and business understanding of how procurement and accounts payables processes enable organizations to meet overall business objectives. Strong experience in strategic sourcing, business strategy, procurement and payables, operational assessment, contract management, and/or supply chain management. Technical skills or working knowledge of: eProcurement technology, requisitions/purchase orders and other such buying activities, procurement analytics, accounts payables. Strong data collection, analysis and visualization skills. Demonstrated ability to identify trends in operational data and experience in developing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Strong business process skills with the ability to optimize business functions through focused improvement initiatives. Must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills that can be leveraged in dealings with vendors, University departments and leadership, strategic partners as well as cross-functionally across the organization. Proven relationship building skills. Proven ability to create communications that effectively reach multiple and diverse stakeholder groups. Ability to give clear and concise presentations. Must possess strong analytical skills, exhibit a strong business orientation, and a demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate, and implement strategic initiatives. Proven ability to retain policy knowledge and effectuate compliance to University policy.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $105,000.00 to USD $155,000.00.
