The Product Analyst supports the University’s enterprise academic applications, which support teaching and learning for NYU’s 60,000 students and 9,000 faculty members, across three campuses (New York City, Shanghai, and Abu Dhabi). NYU's IT and Academic Applications Development group is seeking a Product Analyst to assist the Web Publishing service team on providing troubleshooting support for WordPress, its plugins and stylesheet issues. Candidate should be familiar with Wordpress and coding languages (PHP, HTML, Java). Additional responsibilities may include client consultations, design recommendations, test existing plugins and themes, vet new requests for plugin and themes.
The incumbent advises and consults with NYU faculty, staff, and students to inform the design and development of enterprise applications, through requirements gathering, meetings with individuals and groups, structured usability testing sessions, and focus groups with faculty, students, and staff. The Product Analyst works closely with NYU IT developers and vendors in the design and development of new functionality and user experience (UX) enhancements.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Bachelor's Degree in STEM field, Software Development/User Experience.
2+ years of experience as a product expert for user-facing application services. Experience with UX testing and Agile software development methodologies. Experience working in a collaborative team environment. 3+ years of software development using a programming language (e.g. JAVA,HTML, CSS)
2+ years of experience with the following: WordPress, Kaltura video streaming service, D2L Brightspace (Learning Management System), Atlassian Confluence and Course Evaluation. Experience working in an academic environment.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work and communicate effectively in a collaborative team environment; UX testing; basic HTML and CSS knowledge and skills.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $60,000.00 to USD $110,000.00.
