Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Registrar and Senior Specialist, the Registration and Scheduling Specialist is responsible for University registration and scheduling related policy and procedures. The Specialist is expected to have an in-depth understanding of University registration and scheduling policy, procedure, systems, and data maintenance associated with these functions. With peak period support from the Assistant Registrar and other Specialists, this Specialist manages registration and scheduling operations in the University Registrar, including but not limited to the configuration of registration appointments, holds, classroom scheduling, course catalogs, requisite maintenance, and exam schedules. The Registration and Scheduling Specialist maintains current knowledge of SIS updates, changes in reporting requirements, and compliance regulations; and regularly reviews office policies and procedures to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely management of University data and resources.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree and

Required Experience:
3+ years relevant experience in data maintenance/management/analysis, office operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated data management and reporting skills. Ability to analyze and solve complex problems. Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and student information systems. Strong organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Ability to consistently meet deadlines. Ability to interact with a diverse population and all levels of personnel. Ability to demonstrate tact and diplomacy in conflict or difficult situations within diverse organizations. Ability to develop positive and cooperative relationships with students, faculty, staff, parents, professional colleagues, and the public. Strong managerial and leadership skills with an ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to promote a cooperative work environment.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong preference for proficiency in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions and CollegeNet 25 Series. Strong preference for proficiency in query and report writing. Demonstrated ability to lead a team and facilitate procedural change. Strong technical skills. Knowledge of class and space scheduling.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $58,500.00 to USD $90,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
