The College of Arts & Science Office of Academic Affairs is a complex and highly functional unit that oversees academic policy, planning, and innovation for the College of Arts and Science (https://cas.nyu.edu/content/nyu-as/cas/academic-programs/academic-affairs.html). The Assistant Director, Academic Assessment and Analytics will provide leadership for building efforts to leverage data-rich insights to support student success, curricular innovation and assessment, policy, and enrollment management. This position will partner with Academic Affairs, Arts & Science, and University colleagues to drive academic assessment initiatives and institute related processes and reporting that improve the mission of the College of Arts & Science to advance excellence in educational effectiveness and student experience.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in educational assessment, social science, or a related field.
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in a related field.
Required Experience:
5+ years relevant experience in academic assessment, data analysis, enrollment management, and/or program evaluation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative data analysis) reporting and program evaluation. Proficiency with data analysis features in MS Excel. Experience with statistics and data visualizations tools (i.e. SQL, Tableau).
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Superior strategic planning, interpersonal, and communication skills (both written and oral). Proven ability to draft summary reports and present key takeaways of key outcomes. Ability to articulate findings to members of the internal and external community; detailed knowledge of academic assessment and data analysis skills, including statistical methods and visualization. Demonstrated ability to collaborate within a complex organization. Knowledge of relevant data analysis and visualization tools and approaches.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of relevant trends related to student success within higher education.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $60,000.00 to USD $110,000.00.
