Position provides a broad range of Human Resources services to support the Tandon School of Engineering community. Position will serve as the key business partner for all student employment matters, ensuring consistency, compliance and best practices across Tandon departments for undergraduate and graduate student recruiting, hiring, training and management. Position will manage employment verification and probationary process, and oversee Tandon onboarding activities. Position will oversee planning and coordination of various special events including monthly Administrative Support Network meetings, and Tandon’s Annual Service Awards. Position will support implementation of process improvements initiatives to enhance Tandon HR service delivery and efficiency.
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience: 3+ years of related experience in human resources, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience: 1+ years Prior experience in an academic environment preferred.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of functional areas of HR. Must be proficient with MS Office Suite and Google Tools. Must possess sound judgment and ability to prioritize and multitask in a busy office environment. Exercise professionalism and discretion with sensitive and confidential information. Ability to recognize which tasks to be addressed by him/herself and which to escalate to other HR team members. Must be organized and detail oriented. Ability to manage complex and ambiguous situations and drive towards solution. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing, including strong presentation skills. Must possess exceptional customer service, critical thinking, and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision. Maintain high standards for work. Team player with a process improvement mindset.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Proficient with Workday or PeopleSoft. Advance Excel skills developing pivot tables, or utilizing V-look up, function, etc.; and Powerpoint advance skills to prepare presentations.
Additional Information
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $58,500.00 to USD $105,000.00.
