The Associate Director of Recruitment and Outreach, based in New York, NY, will play a pivotal role in directing recruitment and outreach initiatives and assisting the Senior Associate Director and Director of Admissions in the administration of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. The Associate Director will be responsible for the development and implementation of NYU Shanghai’s undergraduate recruitment and yield plan for international students, focusing primarily on the U.S. and other North American regions, and will make recommendations and implement strategies to increase NYU Shanghai brand awareness and drive growth in applications to NYU Shanghai from suitable students. The Associate Director will cultivate and steward lasting positive relationships with students, parents, and high school guidance counselors. The Associate Director will also support the application reading, evaluation and selection process for international students. The Associate Director will report to the admissions team in Shanghai and will liaise with the NYU Admissions team in New York, ensuring that recruitment and outreach plans are well-integrated and support both NYU Shanghai’s North America-specific and global outreach goals. This role will be instrumental in developing a US-focused recruitment team, with the goal of growing to a small team to oversee recruitment and outreach locally.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree Master’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in higher education, administration/management or related field
Required Experience:
5+ years 5+ years progressively responsible professional experience in higher education administration or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferably 2 years of experience in international educational systems. Must include previous experience in managing personnel, programs and events.
Preferred Experience:
2+ years At least 2 years of experience in international educational systems with previous experience in managing personnel, programs and events.

Familiarity with international higher education institutions, particularly in China and the East Asian region Highly organized, detail oriented with strong follow-through skills Ability to diplomatically handle sensitive situations and/or people Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to acquire technical and functional proficiency with new software applications Knowledge of PeopleSoft and Slate, or other educational databases Experience at a large, decentralized college or university with global programming preferred Conversational proficiency in Mandarin Chinese preferred
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $58,500 - $100,000.
