The Accountant will provide analytical support to Tandon School of Engineering, reporting to the Manager, Compliance & Financial Operations. This role will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing a portfolio of operating and designated budgets. The Accountant will be responsible for creating financial reports, forecasting revenue & expenses, preparing profit and loss statements and loading budgets.
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related area.
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree in finance/accounting or related area
Required Experience:
2+ years quantitative analytical experience, in finance or accounting.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to understand management requirements to investigate, analyze and frame financial analysis in a clear and concise fashion. Demonstrated proficiency with intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Ability to learn new software quickly. We are looking for a team player that is highly motivated & eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. The ability to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail is necessary.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience with data querying tools (i.e. Oracle etc.), University Data Warehouse Plus (Financial System), APWorkflow (Accounts Payable Workflow), Workday (Human Resource System) and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $58,500 - $100,000.
