The Research Project Manager will serve as the main lead in managing and coordinating various research projects underway and forthcoming at the C2SMART Center. C2SMART is a federally-designated USDOT University Transportation consortium based at NYU, and has an established research program of evaluating, understanding, and undertaking its transportation research towards improving and modernizing intelligent transportation systems (ITS). C2SMART undertakes several projects in coordination with its partner agencies, vendors, engineering firms and consultants, and other research partners. This position will be responsible for overseeing and managing the various projects while fulfilling all sponsor requests and needs for successful execution of these projects. They will coordinate across all of the faculty, students, and staff leading the principal technical research under these projects, as well as a portfolio of new agency & industry partners that will be engaged on these projects. The Research Project Manager will require strong outreach and relationship management skills in addition to the high-level of coordination and organization needed to ensure projects proceed smoothly. |
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree In a related field
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree In a related field
Required Experience:
3+ years experience with project management, research coordination, transportation research or related.
Preferred Experience:
3+ years Experience working within a University or with state/city agencies.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work on numerous projects and initiatives simultaneously, and the ability to work independently with general direction from leadership. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal staff, sponsors, and third parties. Excellent communication skills (written/oral/presentation/design/etc). Ability to travel (<10%) across New York State and the region.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience working in a research center or academic environment with students, faculty, etc. Proficiency with design software, website design, or other media.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $125,000.
