Position Summary

NYU's Stern School of Business has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate Director, Major Gifts on our Development and Alumni Relations Team (DART).  The Senior Associate Director will cultivate and solicit major gifts and planned gifts ($100,000+) from alumni, parents and friends of NYU Stern. They will support priority programs, centers and initiatives, identify and prioritize a portfolio of prospects, and develop appropriate strategies to secure gifts. They will help to drive the development and execution of planned giving strategy for NYU Stern, including branding and marketing, and training development for fundraising and engagement  staff. The Senior Associate Director will also collaborate with alumni and annual giving departments to develop and manage programs and events that engage and motivate their portfolio of major gift donors.


The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree, 5+ years relevant experience or an equivalent combination. Must include experience in fundraising or sales, cultivation and stewardship of donors. Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills are required along with a strong ability to take initiative and collaborate with others. Experience with fundraising and events in an academic and/or non-profit environment is preferred. Experience with planned giving or an individual who would like the opportunity to be a part of building out a planned giving program for NYU Stern is also preferred. 

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $90,000 - $140,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
