The NYU Student Health Center is seeking a per-diem (7 hrs/wk) MD/DO with gender-affirming hormonal therapy (GAHT) experience to provide consultation to our Gender Team and patients. One-on-one consultations with Gender team staff as well as case conferences expected, with patient-care visits when needed for complex decision-making. The ideal candidate has prior experience with established GAHT guidelines (WPATH, UCSF) and enjoys consulting with other providers to advance care for transgender and gender-diverse folks. Depending on the candidate’s medical background (endocrinology, internal medicine, etc), non GAC patient care may be included. Our Washington Square-based health center serves 50,000+ undergraduate and graduate students in NYC, including a large international and/or traveling population. Many of our gender-diverse students are seeking GAC for the first time; others have initiated care with home providers and we may assist with continuity of care during the academic year. Understanding cultural humility and having a strong commitment to shared decision-making is important in our setting.
