Position Summary

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) SailPoint Developer leads the architecture and development of identity and access management systems specifically SailPoint plugins, connectors, and compliance certification. The subject matter for this role includes identifier matching and assignment; user, group and role provisioning; entitlement provisioning; account claim and password management; monitoring and auditing of access, and ensuring data cleanliness. Position will be responsible for accuracy of work and deliverables from local as well as global team, school/campus collaborators, and participating vendor staffing. The scope of the environment includes over 3 million identities, 5 source systems, and roughly 20-30 downstream provisioning systems. All NYU’s systems using passwords, single sign-on, depending on role management as part of Administrative, Research, and Teaching & Learning systems heavily depend on the data and provisioning of users and access accountable by this position. The IAM SailPoint Developer utilizes knowledge about web development technologies and cloud solutions, web services, APIs (SCIM protocol a plus) as well as familiarity with Identity and Access Management at the enterprise level. This position supervises the work of three contractors across different time zones.

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
3+ years of experience with Information technology implementation and development experience; broad programming experience (e.g. for operating systems, applications, and/or web development using Java and other scripting or object oriented languages); or an equivalent combination of training and experience. 2+ years of a SailPoint IIQ 7.3+ development background specifically in area of aggregations, partitioning, source system integrations (Workday, PeopleSoft, APIs, JDBC), downstream connector provisioning (LDAP, AD, Duo, Google Apps, BrightSpace LMS, APIs/WebServices, JDBC, Box, ServiceNow, etc.). 1+ years of experience with an Identity and roles lifecycle (joiner-mover-leaver) management to properly provide rapid near-real-time access, deprovision access, and update as it changes.

Preferred Experience:
5+ years of experience with Identity Management 3+ years of working experience with other IAM technologies including: SSO (Shibboleth and OpenID Connect), Grouper, LDAP, Duo for MFA, SailPoint, as well as, related systems Active Directory, ServiceNow, JIRA, Web Publishing.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Should possess analytical and problem solving skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels, including non-technical users. Able to document code/work and participate in knowledge transfers.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Java, Javascript, Identity Management applications (preferably Sailpoint IIQ), Apache, web containers, Unix/Linux proficiency, RESTful web services, cloud technologies. Experience working with methods of authentication, authorization, and access management, including SAML2 (preferably Shibboleth), OAuth, MFA, and LDAP/ADFS. Previous experience working with any major IAM technology is highly desirable. Software development lifecycle knowledge, agile methodologies, familiarity with Git/other version control software. Demonstrated success working in a collaborative environment as well as independently.
