Position Summary

As a member of the Technology Development Group, the Senior Technology Solutions Developer is responsible for designing, implementing, and testing a large variety of applications, supporting the School of Law's web presence, blogs, social media initiatives, academic and administrative functions. The responsibilities range from designing and developing end-to-end applications, planning and developing new site features, extending existing applications to keeping the web systems are up-to-date, integrating 3rd party applications to the school's application stack.The role requires excellent technical skills, analytical and creative problem solving skills, an ability to work independently or with a group, initiative, and high personal standards for quality work.


Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
3+ years experience and expertise in working with high level languages such as C#, Java, PHP, or Python, and an associated framework (e.g., .NET, Laravel, Django), fluency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript; familiarity with the general principles of system and network administration; direct experience with the all components of the LAMP stack and content management frameworks, such as Drupal and WordPress.

Preferred Experience:
3+ years Working experience with a contemporary JavaScript framework (eg Angular, React, Vue). Familiarity with containers (Docker) for both local development and deployment to server environments. Bonus for experience with container orchestration systems (Kubernetes).

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability and drive to learn new technologies and proactively look for ways to improve the School of Law's applications and web infrastructure.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $60,000 - $110,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
