Position Summary

The Program Administrator develops, coordinates, and implements programs and services for the Student Technology Centers (STC) within NYU Information Technology. This position works with the STC team and liaise with other departments and student groups to increase the NYU community’s awareness of the services and events at the STCs. Primary responsibilities include curating the STCs’ Events and Workshop series, and leading the development and implementation of Outreach strategies around social media, newsletters, and other forms of communication. The Program Administrator also manage Space Reservation services, and tours students, faculty, and staff to form relationships for future collaborations. This position supervises 15-20 undergraduate student staff members (Student Technology Assistants), delegating work to them, and collaborating with them on projects. This position reports onsite 5 days a week.


Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in communications, educational media or related field.

Required Experience:
3+ years of professional experience working on communication-related and/or student engagement projects. and 1+ years of foundational experience in event planning, content creation, graphic design, video editing, style guides.

Preferred Experience:
3+ years of working at a university within Student Affairs, Clubs and Activities, or Student Engagement. Customer service experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience supporting students and/or faculty in the use one or more of the following: Google Calendar, Google Apps for Education, Presentation Tools (Prezi, Keynote, PowerPoint), Streaming and Recording Video (Kaltura, WebEx, Zoom), Web Publishing (WordPress, Wiki's), Screen Capture (Camtasia and Captivate), and Digital Media Applications (Adobe Creative Cloud, video and audio editing & encoding applications). Demonstrate baseline knowledge of audio-visual and multimedia production processes. Demonstrate solid, current knowledge of newsletter creation, social media platforms, and other forms of promotion. Ability to maintain high levels of creativity and quality. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to be flexible in work assignments and work times that may require changing priorities regularly. Strong administrative and organizational skills, including the ability to meet project deadlines, stay on track, and communicate statuses and needs proactively. Self-starter with the ability to work in a highly collaborative team-based, fast-paced atmosphere with high standards for quality, accuracy, and innovation. Ability to be proactive, take ownership of assigned responsibilities, and work with little supervision. Ability to support the University and its mission.
