The Financial Analyst I will administer and provide financial management support for the various budgetary, financial, and administrative functions of the Provost Fiscal Affairs team. This role will have a wide range of essential financial management and administrative responsibilities, including preparing financial reports and financial analyses; managing, reviewing, and approving financial transactions on behalf of the organization. Analyst to provide day-to-day financial administration and management support, including preparation of monthly financial analysis, budget preparation and reconciliation, and forecasting. Serve as a resource to the Provost community on financial and administrative matters by managing financial business processes for departments and interpreting NYU policy for the various units. Implement and assist with developing internal control procedures; provide analyses for the annual budget process.
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance or accounting or related field
Required Experience: 2+ years experience with financial reporting and analysis, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Experience: 1+ years higher education experience
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Strong problem solving, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with spreadsheet applications. Strong knowledge of database applications and word processing software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
