Position Summary

Arts and Science is looking for a dedicated Program Administrator. This individual reports to the faculty Director of the Center for Soft Matter Research (CSMR) and oversees administrative support to the Center. The Program Administrator develops and implements office policies and procedures for the CSMR, coordinates recruitment and onboarding of new Center members, and provides logistical support for the Center’s international visitors program, including managing the Center’s dedicated visitor apartments. The Program Administrator also coordinates and provides logistical support for the Center’s seminar series, research meetings and outreach programs. The CSMR Administrator manages the budget for these activities, initiates purchases, and provides accounting support for research grants.

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience:
3+ years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience with overseeing program activities and administering budgets.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in an academic or research environment.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills. Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet and database software, PC and Mac computers. Ability to design and maintain web sites and social media platforms. Familiarity with grants processing. Ability to work with a broad spectrum of individuals (students, staff, faculty, international visitors, etc.)
