Position Summary

The Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies at the School of Professional Studies is seeking an Academic Advisor to advise students annually on academic programs, policies, and procedures. This individual will guide students in identifying career goals and aspirations, assist them in choosing courses and programs that link academic planning to career and professional objectives. Conduct graduation audits each semester. Assess students' background and academic interests to assign students to faculty mentors

Qualifications

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Education:
Master's Degree

Required Experience:
2+ years relevant experience in student counseling, coaching, mentoring support in an educational setting an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to advise and provide solutions to problems. Proficiency with MS Office , Google Suite.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Excellent customer service skills. Proficiency and/or familiarity with Student Information Systems. Knowledge of student develolpment and career development theories. Knowledge of educational privacy laws.
