Position Summary

Manage Finance and Business Operations business operations for New York University's Office of Veterinary Resources (OVR), including acquisitions (animals, facility/veterinary equipment, facility repairs, animal facility technician staffing during shortages, database management services), operating and grant budgets, and stock control (facility animal care and veterinary supplies). Ensure budgets, facilities, and telecommunications/information technology services meet the needs of animal facility users, the offices of the Faculty of Arts and Science Dean and Fiscal Services, and federal and state animal welfare regulatory requirements.

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree and

Required Experience:
3 to 5 years' progressively responsible budgetary and financial analytical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience managing business operations with budget and finance development and analysis and budget model development.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in an academic/research environment or non-profit setting.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills. Ability to analyze and interpret financial information, analyze figures, and translate them into readable budgets. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels. Ability to supervise staff. Proficiency with spreadsheet applications; working knowledge of word processing and database software.

Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Experience with fame, the University's general ledger system.
